Chris of Tots Too Ski checks out the newest Les Gets family ski chalet

“I always look forward to staying in our chalets; I love the locations, the food, the wines and the service … but there is something very special about staying in a new property that has been built to our design.

Back in March I headed out to Les Gets for my very own family ski holiday. We had pulled together a group of friends, this is how around half of our guests travel, and filled one of our new Select Chalets, Chalet Bacall.

Chalets Bacall and Bogart have rather unusual names because they have been built in the shell of what was the old village cinema. The fit and finish far exceeded my expectations and the location, footsteps from the slopes, ski lifts and the centre of the village, aided relaxation enormously.

Despite the fairly busman’s nature of a ski holiday (it’s not always easy to relax surrounded by one’s employees and clients) we had a fabulous time. Looking back at the trip I am enormously proud of how hard all of our staff were working in resort and guest feedback shows it isn’t just when I am in town!

The chalets were looking superb, children were having great fun in childcare and chalet staff were doing a fabulous job of looking after and feeding everyone. Everywhere I looked there were enthusiastic professional people doing a great job and families relaxing and having fun.

There was, however, another source of pride that was larger still. My five year old daughter managed to ski to the village on her own … three times. Following her down at the end of the week I had the widest possible grin; it was a memory I’ll look back on for many years.

If you haven’t tried skiing with your children, don’t delay – it’s amazingly rewarding. You don’t need to stay in a chalet with hot tub, nannies and a chef (although we’d obviously rather you did and you’ll have a splendid time); just get out on the snow with the children and have a play.”
