If you’re looking for some inspiration for your family holiday this year, take a look at our hotel of the month for March: Resort & Spa Le Dune. This lovely resort is situated on the stunning Italian island of Sardinia and is certainly one to consider if you’re after a fun-filled family holiday where there's plenty for everyone to enjoy.

What does Resort & Spa Le Dune offer families?

The first question on your lips is probably ‘what’s on offer specifically for families?’ and the answer is – a lot! At Tots Too we’ve carefully selected all our hotels based on their offerings for parents with children – we’ll run through a few of the specific facilities Resort & Spa Le Dune has for little ones now.

Six swimming pools

Yes, you read that correctly – there are six swimming pools at this resort but, even better, two of these are dedicated to children. What’s more, these two child-friendly pools are located within the huge play area known as Villaggio Fantasia, where there is plenty to keep little ones amused.

Dedicated kids’ clubs

Although family holidays are a great opportunity to spend time with your children, sometimes you and your partner will need a bit of peace and quiet, which is when Le Dune’s kids’ clubs will be perfect. The resort runs four different clubs for children of varying ages, which means your youngsters will be treated to a host of activities that are specific to their age group.

For the youngest members of your family – children aged 18 months to four years – is the Baby Club, a free group childminding service that provides parents with some respite from 08.45 to 18.30 and between 20.30 and 22.30 every day.

Mini Club, which runs from 09.00 to 18.30, is for little ones aged four to nine. This club runs a variety of recreational activities throughout the day and you can even choose to leave your youngsters with their instructors for lunch or dinner.

For kids aged nine to 14, there is the Junior Club, which operates in the same hours as the Mini Club, and provides children with the chance to try age-appropriate activities under the watchful eyes of a qualified instructor.

Finally, there is the Teen Club, an area of the resort reserved exclusively for those aged 14 to 18. There are various sports and recreational activities on offer for teens in this special, supervised environment – the perfect place for them to make new friends.

Dedicated nursery and feeding area

For mums with young children, it’s great to have a dedicated space where you can go to feed your little one in comfort. Resort & Spa Le Dune has a 24-hour nursery area where you’ll find everything you need, such as high chairs, sterilisers, bottle warmers and even a range of baby food. There are also cots, changing tables and nappies on hand.

Child-friendly restaurant

Although there are ten restaurants in the resort, it is likely to be Peter Pan where your youngsters eat the most often. This exciting eatery has a special children’s menu, as well as a fun atmosphere that makes mealtimes more enjoyable.

Little ones can even get involved with the food preparation, by helping out in the organic vegetable garden or collecting eggs from the free-range hens during their time at one of the kids’ clubs.

Extras for your convenience

As any parent will tell you, having the right equipment on holiday makes the whole trip a lot smoother and more pleasant. At Le Dune, you can hire a pushchair for the duration of your stay, the resort can provide an appropriate car seat for your little one for the journey to and from the airport and cots are available on request.

What about mum and dad?

While it’s great making sure your children are well looked after and occupied during your family holiday, you need to ensure the resort you choose also has plenty for you and your partner to enjoy while the kids are busy with the various sports and activities on offer.

The spa is certainly one of the stand-out features here, with the wellness centre designed with ultimate relaxation in mind. Within this tranquil haven you will find three open-air pools, each of which is heated to a different temperature, a jacuzzi, a Turkish bath, in and outdoor relaxation areas and a fully-equipped gym.

Of course, there’s a wide range of treatments on offer here, covering everything from massages to hydrotherapy. The therapists will come up with a personalised treatment programme tailored to suit you, ensuring you get the most out of your spa experience and feel utterly refreshed and relaxed.
