About The Hotel
The newest self-catering property in Avoriaz, L’Amara also has the highest star rating. Being entirely ski in and ski out and located just one hour’s drive from Geneva, saving the long transfer time required for the Southern Alps, these apartments work well for families looking for a hassle-free ski holiday. Situated right on the slopes by the Falaise area of Avoriaz, L’Amara offers families luxury apartments with access to facilities including an indoor pool and access to an excellent kids club.
The Deep Nature Spa has treatment rooms for adults and an outdoor hot tub as well as a heated indoor pool, sauna and steam room. L’Aquariaz Mountain Spa is located nearby and offers over 2000m² of swimming pools and slides. There is also a climbing wall, outdoor hot tub with valley views and a gentle flowing river. Families are well placed to make the most of the 36 ski lifts and 49 slopes, perfectly located in the centre of the Portes du Soleil ski area and there are daily kids ski lessons at the nearby Annie Famose Children’s Village and Ski School.
L’Amara offers apartments ranging from one bedroom for four people up to five bedrooms which sleep extended families of up to 12, all with a balcony or terrace. The standard apartments have a full kitchen and living area and are decorated to a high standard. Superior apartments have extra luxury touches and a better location within the resort and the Exceptional apartments have stunning views of the mountain and enhanced décor.
L’Amara offers families the opportunity to self-cater but if you don’t feel like cooking after a long day on the slopes there is a choice of restaurants nearby including a bistro and gourmet French dining. The resort can arrange a flexible half board programme to dine at the local restaurants for all or part of your stay; alternatively you can have meals delivered to your apartment (when booked 24 hours in advance). Families can also order fresh bread and cakes from the bakery to be delivered for breakfast and a continental breakfast buffet with Viennese pastries, fruit juice, yoghurt, cereals, fruit, eggs and omelette can be enjoyed in the resort.
The Annie Famose Children’s Village welcomes children aged from 3 to 16 years, with ski and snowboarding lessons and evening entertainment to suit every age. For little ones (3-6 years) there are five hectares of reserved slopes in a specially designed outstanding location, decorated with cartoon characters and mini ski lifts. The older ones (6-16 years) can enjoy beginner or “advanced skier” lessons, including four “competition” courses (slalom, introductory, multi-discipline and freeride courses). The Children’s Village is open from Sunday to Friday 9.30 am to 12 pm and from 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
