About The Hotel
Castello di Casole, winner of Travel & Leisure’s World’s Best Resort two years in a row, is a storied castle dating back to 998, at the heart of a vast Tuscan estate. It comprises of a 41-suite boutique hotel plus private villas, ideal for families wishing to enjoy the independence of a villa but with access to five star hotel amenities. Arrival is through a cypress-lined lane that leads to the elegant courtyard and the entrance and reception areas overlook an expansive reflection pool, beyond which the library, boutique and gallery are set amongst terraces, courtyards and gardens joined by walkways. There are daily children’s activities and villas can be supplied with amenities for babies and children.
There’s a large heated pool with sun terrace, as well as a spa using local products, sauna and steam room and fitness centre. At an additional charge, activities including hiking, horseback riding & mountain biking, guided vineyard & tasting tours and Bird watching & guided wildlife tours can be arranged.
Suites in the hotel are designed in traditional Tuscan style, with exposed stonework and rustic tiling, and amenities include complimentary premium movies, iPod® docking station and complimentary minibar. The one bedroom suites can accommodate small families but for comfort and space we recommend the villas. The villas all have spacious kitchens, large bathrooms, and outdoor dining areas and are conveniently located close to the estate’s facilities. Available for weekly or nightly rentals (Sunday – Sunday in high season), the two and three bedroom villas date back to the 18th Century and have been lovingly restored with furnishings from the leading houses of Italy. Each villa has a private terrace, two or three bathrooms and an open fire for the winter months as well as housekeeping and room service. The three bedroom villas share a private pool and the two bedroom villas all have an outdoor Jacuzzi.
In addition to the villas, nearby in the quaint hill town of Mensano (10 minutes by car) there are Casales or farmhouses with up to four bedrooms and access to the hotel’s facilities – please ask us for details.
Trattoria Pazzia serves freshly homemade pasta and Tuscan style “tagliata” beef accompanied with fresh vegetables and produce hand-picked in the Chef’s vegetable garden and Ristorante Tosca offers modern Tuscan cuisine with an outdoor terrace. A private chef can be booked for your villa and the hotel will provide picnics for your days out.
