New for 2015, we’re excited to present a carefully crafted collection of adventure tours and tailor made itineraries for families with older children. Recommended for children aged five upwards, this tour takes in Vietnam’s most family-friendly highlights, travelling from the south to the north and visiting frenetic Ho Chi Minh City, the Mekong Delta and Ha Long Bay, Bach Ma National Park and Hanoi. Added adventures include jungle ziplines, trekking and plenty of outdoor activities suitable for families as well as an exclusive Tots Too evening street food tour, cookery class and cyclo food tour.  Accommodation is in family friendly 4 and 5-star hotels and there is also the opportunity to stay in Homestays, small family-run B&Bs.

In addition to touring in Vietnam we can offer relaxing stay-put or twin-centre city and beach options in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Nha Trang as well as extensions to nearby Cambodia and Laos.

Day 1

Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City

Meet and greet at the airport and transfer to the Park Hyatt or similar for a three-night stay.

Day 2

Free day to explore Ho Chi Minh City

Optional evening motorbike street food tour: Get on the back of experienced motorbike drivers and immerse yourself in Saigonese lifestyle by driving through small alleys and sampling typical southern specialties. Overnight at the Park Hyatt or similar.

Day 3

Cu Chi Tunnel

Visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, located 3 hours away from Ho Chi Minh City. In order to combat better-supplied American and South Vietnamese forces during the Vietnam War, Communist guerrilla troops known as Viet Cong (VC) dug tens of thousands of miles of tunnels, including an extensive network running underneath the Cu Chi district northwest of Saigon.  Now part of a Vietnam War memorial park, the Cu Chi tunnels have become a popular tourist attraction.  Overnight at the Park Hyatt or similar.

Day 4

Can Tho and the Mekong Delta

Depart from Saigon to Can Tho in the southern Mekong Delta Region. Visit Can Tho floating market, the most famous floating market in the Mekong Delta. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and the bustling activity of the market. Venture further through small canals visiting a rice husking mill and a shop where rice noodles are being produced. Overnight in a Can Tho Homestay or at Victoria Can Tho Resort.

Day 5

Ben Tre

Transfer to  waterside town Ben Tre, famous for its keo dua (coconut candy), where you will cycle to a traditional farmhouse to take part in an authentic local ceremony. Visit local workshops and continue biking through fruit orchards. Overnight at Cho Lach Homestay.

Day 6

Hoi An

Transfer from Ben Tre to Ho Chi Minh City Airport for your flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, transfer to the charming town of Hoi An.  Overnight at Boutique Hoi An or similar.

Day 7

Hoi An

Walk through Hoi An’s Old Town visiting traditional houses and historic spots such as the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Pottery Museum, the 200 years old Tan Ky House, Chua Ong Pagoda and the vibrant local market. Enjoy an optional family cooking class. Overnight at Boutique Hoi An or similar.

Day 8

Bach Ma National Park

Transfer from Hoi An to Bach Ma and check in to a local house located in the middle of the National Park. Free afternoon to explore the national park, nature spot and relax.

Day 9

Trek along the trails to Ngu Ho (Five Lakes), relaxing and swimming in the jungle heading to Do Quyen – Rhododendron waterfalls. Overnight at Banyan Tree Resort Lang Co or similar.

Day 10

Hue

Transfer to Vietnam’s old imperial capital Hue and discover Hue’s Forbidden City. Try local specialities on a cyclo or walking food tour; the cuisine in Hue is considered some of the best in Vietnam. Overnight at Pilgrimage Village or similar.

Day 11

Hanoi

Transfer to the Airport for your flight to Hanoi. Experience a full day of exploring Hanoi city like a local. Walk in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, try as many local street food dishes as you can and visit the most secret places in the city. Hanoi is a real treat for the senses.

Day 12

Hanoi

Enjoy a free day at leisure to explore Hanoi further and take advantage of the numerous stores and shops scattered around the Old Quarter. Overnight at Silk Path or similar.

Day 13

Ha Long Bay

Leave Hanoi in the morning and transfer to Ha Long Bay (four hour drive), Vietnam’s most beautiful destination and a UNESCO heritage site. Overnight on board a typical Vietnamese junk.

Day 14

Ha Long Bay

Relax on board a cruise, try your hand at kayaking, visit caves and spend the night on Ha Long on board a typical Vietnamese junk. Overnight on board a typical Vietnamese junk.

Day 15

Departure

Transfer to Hanoi for your flight home or spend an extra night in Hanoi before your international journey. Alternatively, extend your stay with some time on the beach in Da Nang or Nha Trang.
