About The Hotel

Located in Sexten or Sesto, close to the Austrian border and overlooking the Sesto Dolomites, Hotel Rainer has direct access to a vast skiing area, with two new eight-passenger gondola lifts linking the skiing areas of Monte Elmo and Croda Rossa. Family owned, Hotel Rainer offers a peaceful setting, a wellness oasis with children’s area, age-appropriate childcare and activities for children aged 1 – 12 years, baby and toddler equipment and even a childrens’ buffet in the restaurant.

The Dolomit Panorama spa at the Hotel Rainer has a large heated indoor swimming pool with hydromassage beds, separate spa area for children with shallow pool and a slide, sauna, massage and beauty treatments. Opened in 2014, the Dolimiti Di Sesto skiing centre, with 90 km of slopes, includes “Tre Cime” (Three Peaks) descent and the new “Orto del Toro”. From the “Orto del Toro”, at 2100 metres, skiers can admire the Sesto Dolomites from a whole new perspective and enjoy a marvellous view of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Three Peaks of Lavaredo).

The resort is part of a larger complex of four hotels in total, with the four star Hotel Rainer offering the best accommodation and facilities for families. The Family Apartments sleep up to five, with direct access to the garden and view to the south, parents’ room with desk and satellite TV, separate living room and children’s bedroom with single beds. For larger families, the Superior Suites sleep up to seven people.

There is a choice of four restaurants, including the main buffet restaurant which serves varied and healthy buffet breakfast, lunch buffet of salads and hors d’oeuvres, as well as a separate kids buffet. In the evening families can choose between three menus, a selection of salads and vegetables and hors d’oeuvres of the day, and an assortment of cheeses and desserts. And in the afternoon half-board guests feeling peckish can help themselves to the cake table! Themed gourmet evenings with live music take place each week.

For babies and young children not on ski courses Hotel Rainer offers morning games, with a range of activities like finger-painting, PlayMais and play dough with moulds. For children aged three and over, beginners’ courses are held at the nearby ski school every weekday morning; the youngest learners start on the magic carpet on the slope immediately in front of the hotel, while advanced learners set off with their skis to Croda Rossa or Monte Elmo. After the morning ski courses, children can have s supervised lunch and then there’s an afternoon schedule of indoor and outdoor fun and games at the fantastic “World of Raini”.

Children aged ten and over enjoy group sledding downhill from Croda Rossa, bouldering at the ‘Dolomitenarena’ climbing centre in Sesto, torchlit hike with orange juice punch in the resort’s igloo. There is also a playroom with computer games and music.
