About The Hotel

Le Portetta has been a family favourite in the Three Valleys for decades. Located in the quieter – but still very well connected – Courchevel 1650, families can take advantage of a more laid-back pace but still access the full 600km of skiable terrain.  Recently refurbished, the hotel offers a rustic charm and a cosy and inviting atmosphere for families with just thirty-eight luxurious rooms all overlooking either the piste or the mountain, as well as six stylish fully equipped duplex lofts on the top two floors which have balconies, open log fires and stunning views over Courchevel Moriond and beyond. The five mottoes of this ski-in ski-out hotel are Eat Well, Live Well, Feel Well, Sleep Well and Escape Well.

Le Portetta has an in-house spa with hammam, sauna, gym and relaxation rooms. Courchevel Moriond is a fantastic, diverse ski area. The pistes are wider and longer than many in 1850 and they tend to have less people on which is a bonus for any level of skier but especially beginners. If you are a little more extreme then Courchevel Moriond offers extreme off piste skiing too. You can ski off piste in Courchevel, from the top of 1650 down to Portetta at the bottom – it is a hairy ride but one worth doing if you haven’t already. If you’re looking to venture further afield, Courchevel 1850 is a ten minute chairlift away. If you need a rest from skiing, just a short car journey away you can find tobogganing, ice skating, bowling, Go-Karting and much more.

We recommend the Family Valley rooms which offer families plenty of space. They have an oversized main bedroom with sitting area and TV, en suite bathroom and a kids bedroom leading off the main room complete with bunk beds and en suite shower. The sitting area is ideal for family time and there is also have a range of board games and DVDs to help you all relax after a hard day on the ski slopes.

Portetta provides a combination of classic and modern French cuisine using the freshest locally grown ingredients. Menus change seasonally and daily, and are complimented by a carefully selected wine list as well as a separate kids menu. The outdoor terrace bar at Le Portetta is right at the bottom of the main piste and has huge log burning fires, flaming torches, wood fired pizza oven, ice shots, fur snugs and heated bar seating.

Children aged 6 months to 6 years are welcomed into the nearby Crèche “Les Ptits Pralins” which is run by fully qualified staff. ESF have a number of locations throughout Courchevel which offer great childcare, including the Piou Piou club which can entertain children from 3 years to 5 years.  The main ESF ski school can teach children from 5 years old to 12 and can be pre-booked on request. Babysitting is also available at the resort.
