Accommodation comes in the form of rooms, suites and villas, all of which have a rich warm décor and luxurious sense of space. Rooms and suites all have a balcony or terrace facing the sea and are suitable for families with young children as well as couples enjoying a romantic getaway. The suites come in a range of styles, with some using the rustic wood furnishings to create a sophisticated taste of African culture. There are also Chinese style suites using feng shui, Asian art and silk to pay homage to traditional Mauritius Chinese influences. For a really special experience there are also opulent private villas.
There are many facilities on offer to keep you and your family entertained for the duration of your stay. Have a workout at the fitness centre, a game of tennis or wind down an activity filled day with a relaxing yoga or Tai-Chi session. The array of water sports will give you a fantastic opportunity to explore the breathtaking sea life: snorkelling, scuba diving, windsurfing, water skiing and glass bottom boat rides. "We had a really lovely time and thought the hotel was just what we wanted - casual luxury with a family-friendly vibe. The staff were especially nice to us and accommodating with our 9 month old V in terms of making food and generally making a fuss over her.
I think out of 5, I would give it a 4.5.
I will certainly let you know if I recommend any friends to your company.
Thank you again for your help in organising it."

"LUX* hotels are a great choice for families who enjoy something a bit different. LUX* Belle Mare offers a daily programme of changing activities, some are planned and some are spontaneous, these include pop up cinema on the beach complete with pop corn, star gazing evenings, painting classes, village walks, secret free drinks bar and other unusual and interesting ideas.
LUX* Belle Mare has a great location on the East Coast with a lovely stretch of white sand beach. I was able to see various rooms here – both the older style rooms which are decorated in an attractive but classic style and the newly renovated rooms which are styled by Kelly Hoppen and are very contemporary, light, bright and attractive. All the rooms are spacious and have views over the beautiful gardens, pool and some to the sea beyond.
Again the style of this hotel is very much open plan with the lobby leading through to the main restaurant and bar and one of the largest pools I have seen which forms the main central feature of the hotel. A range of enticing restaurants allows plenty of dining choices.
The ‘Play’ kids club is tucked away in a quiet area with plenty of indoor and outdoor play space. When I visited the kids were having a fantastic time with their aprons and chef hats on getting messy, decorating cakes with chocolate icing and sprinkles.
The LUX* Me spa is a fairly small spa but stylishly appointed with a very peaceful relaxation area and outdoor pool.
As with all the Mauritius hotels, there is plenty to get involved with and a full programme of daily exercise classes, excursions and complimentary water sports."

"We had a fantastic holiday. The Beau Rivage was a great choice, thanks for that [Beau Rivage is the previous name for LUX* Belle Mare]. In particular it is very well set up for families. eg room sizes; proximity of pool to beach, kids menus in all the restaurants. Of particular help, in the evening there is a playroom next to the main restaurants, which is manned in the evening, so that you can enjoy a leisurely meal while the kids go off and play. The staff are exceptionally helpful, especially with the kids. My son who is 4, is an eat little and often boy and the staff were only too happy to cater him with pieces of pizza & fruit throughout the day without charge. The only slight criticism is that the rooms could do with refurbishment, upholstery especially was quite marked & stained.
However it all seems like a long time ago now, so we need to be planning the next one. Thanks for all your hard work it was really appreciated."
