About The Hotel

Set across from the Royal Palace, Raffles Grand Hotel D’Angkor Siem Reap is one of the landmark historic hotels in Cambodia. The hotel is rich in Cambodian history and full of original treasures, right down to the working cage elevator in the lobby and the doorman still welcomes everyone in a uniform inspired by the Royal Palace. With over fifteen acres of landscaped French gardens built around the country’s largest swimming pool, the hotel is a peaceful oasis to retreat after exploring the temples in the UNESCO World Heritage site of Angkor Wat only ten minutes from the hotel. Especially welcoming to families, the hotel has a separate children’s pool and family concierge to assist with tailor made excursions.

Raffles Grand Hotel D’Angkor Siem Reap has a 35-metre pool inspired by the ancient Royal bathing pools of Angkor and with a separate kids pool, extensive tropical gardens, a spa offering traditional Khmer treatments, fitness centre and yoga and meditation classes. Only 8km from Angkor Wat, families can explore the wonders of one of the world’s most revered temple complexes, enjoy the spectacular sunset over Tonle Sap Lake, experience the rustic charm of the Floating Village and the serenity of Royal Crusade for Independence Gardens. Discover the perfect souvenir or gift from Phsar Chas market and explore Angkor Thom and the other major Angkor citadels from the back of a stately elephant.

Each of the spacious 119 rooms, suites and villas furnished with Cambodian object d’art style decor, some retained from when the hotel opened its doors in 1932. Every room has views of either the pool or the expansive gardens and many have balconies. For families the poolside villas separate from the main building offer comfort and privacy with two bedrooms, a living room with a dining table to seat eight people three bathrooms and a private balcony overlooking the pool. The Landmark Rooms have high beam ceilings, historic bathrooms complete with original claw-foot baths and large private balconies giving guests a feeling of yesteryear. For more space families can opt for the Personality Suites which take their names from some of the personalities who have been associated with the Angkor region.

There is a choice of five restaurants, all with special menus for children. Restaurant Le Grand showcases Royal Khmer cuisine and western fine dining in an elegant setting, Cafe D’Angkor serves a signature daily champagne breakfast and is also open for lunch and dinner with Asian and continental dishes and the Poolside Terrace, surrounded by Frangipani trees, is the perfect spot for light meals or cocktails by the pool. The Conservatory serves afternoon tea and Aspara Terrace hosts regular evenings of Cambodia cultural dances, martial arts and history with a selection of Khmer and pan-Asian cuisine.

Families are well catered for at the Raffles Grand Hotel D’Angkor Siem Reap and although there is no formal kids club, as there is so much to explore outside the hotel, the hotel concierge can organise tailored family-friendly excursions including visits to Angkor Wat, a boat ride on Tonle Sap Lake and safari trails. The separate kids pool will please little ones after a hard day’s sightseeing and all restaurants feature separate children’s menus. Babysitting can be arranged on request.
