About The Hotel

The Sofitel Marrakech Palais Impérial has been constructed in the style of a Moorish palace set amongst palm trees and bougainvillea. Immense columns, sculpted ceilings, traditional zelliges, carpets and artwork create an atmosphere of Eastern hospitality and if you listen carefully you can hear the bustle of the Medina whilst looking out onto the snow-covered peaks of the Atlas Mountains. Families are well catered for with spacious suites and a lively kids club as well as the opportunity to stroll to the medina and the Djemaa El Fna, or main square, to explore the fascinating sights, sounds and smells of the souks.

There are two outdoor pools (one of which is heated) surrounded by palm trees, sun loungers and hammocks and one indoor pool, a well-equipped gym, mini-golf and access to an 18-hole golf course plus a sauna and Jacuzzi. The spa offers massage and traditional Moroccan Hammam using organic argan oils.

Rooms and suites are decorated in traditional Moroccan style with low lighting and earthy colours and either overlook the Koutobia, the Atlas Mountains or the gardens. Luxurious touches include marble bathrooms with large bathtubs and Bose CD players. The Prestige and Opera Suites are ideal for families, with one or two bedrooms and a separate lounge area.

Marrakech is a good place for food lovers and the hotel offers a choice of restaurants with separate kids’ menus available. L’Oasis is a relaxed poolside Mediterranean-style restaurant with dishes including east on lobster marrakchi or a light salade niçoise with a platter of French cheeses. Le Jardin serves an eclectic mix of tagine, rotisserie and even sushi and So Good, nestled in lush gardens next to the avant-garde So Lounge bar, features authentic Moroccan cuisine with a French twist and live cultural shows every evening. L’Orangerie is the gourmet restaurant and there are also four bars including a tea lounge and poolside bar serving chilled drinks and snacks.

The Kids’ Suite has a wide range of facilities, creating a fantasy grown-up world for the little ones, including a tea lounge, cinema events, library and mini-spa experiences. Supervised for children aged 4 – 12 years, the Kids Club utilises these facilities for its programme of creative and cultural activities including Moroccan cookery classes, outdoor games, competitions and min-discos. There is also an outdoor playground, video games room and babysitting is available on request.

The Sofitel Marrakech is a tranquil haven in the centre of a magical city, an exciting base for a family looking for discovery and adventure.
