About The Hotel
Set along a prime 750-foot stretch of serene beach on the west coast of Barbados close to Paynes Beach, Tamarind Barbados is an intimate hotel with family-friendly rooms, kids menus, educational activities, marine programmes and golf lessons as well as off-site adventures including swimming with the turtles. This region of Barbados is a perfect base to explore the island, with trips including historic attraction and rum distillery St. Nicholas Abbey, picturesque Cherry Tree Hill and Bathsheba on the east coast. For families who prefer to stay put and enjoy the resort there’s plenty of entertainment including water sports, a spa, fitness centre, kids club and volleyball.
There are three swimming pools including a family-friendly pool overlooking the beach as well as a separate relaxation pool in the spa. The Aqua school offers complimentary motorised and non-motorised water sports including banana boats, snorkeling, sailing, boogie boarding, kayaking, windsurfing and paddle boarding and there is a fully equipped fitness centre as well as beach sports including volleyball, cricket and beach football. The Yin Yang spa offers hot stone and Swedish massage as well as a range of beauty treatments and there is nightly entertainment with steel bands.
Tamarind Barbados’ 104 hotel rooms and suites offer vibrant, modern décor, spacious floor plans, oversized balconies and panoramic views of the sea. There are seven different room types and we recommend the one bedroom suites for families, which have a king sized bed, separate living room with sofa bed, flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, complimentary Wi-Fi and a spacious bathroom with a shower and bath.
There is a choice of three restaurants as well as private dining experiences on the beach or in the hotel grounds. The “Little people, Big Palates” scheme ensures that kids are well catered for in all restaurants and one of the weekly activities at Freddie’s Kids’ Club is a baking session. Ice lollies and other treats can be enjoyed on the beach by day.
