The Swiss are perfectionists in many areas and their ski resorts are no different, with excellent chairlift infrastructure, wide expansive runs and fantastic ski schools. The resorts often appear untouched by modern influences, with very traditional family run hotels. These hotels generally have great child care, for families which younger children. We feature two of the most well-known resorts in Switzerland, Verbier and St Moritz; these resorts are easily accessible from Geneva and Innsbruck respectively.
Verbier is the main resort in Switzerland’s largest ski area, the Four Valleys. Thanks to the combination of a sunny, scenic location, exciting terrain and great apres-ski it’s a popular resort for British families. Nearly 100 lifts access more than 400km of runs, including some of the best lift-served off piste in the Alps. The slopes are snow sure and the scenery spectacular, and from the top of the ski area the views reach as far as the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc.
St Moritz was the first and, 150 years since its birth as a tourist destination, remains the best all-round wintersports resort in the world, boasting a myriad of on and off-snow activities.
