"Thx for your note and would characterise the holiday as excellent. St. Lucia itself is beautiful and the St. Lucians are incredibly friendly and love children!

The resort is excellent for families and was perfect for us. It's quiet generally which is what we wanted but it is also safe, clean and well run. The facilities are excellent and the location is also perfect. Would rate it highly.

The villa we had was terrific, large and airy with everything we needed. It was located right on the beach so was extremely convenient for the kids.

The only issue we had was that the restaurant was right next to our villa so on two evenings when weddings were hosted it kept us up late but it wasn't a major issue.

Generally, we would definitely recommend the villa, the resort and St. Lucia.

I would also say that you in particular did an outstanding job putting the trip together. You were very friendly and incredibly efficient and really did an excellent job in arranging this holiday for us. We've already worked with you again for our Cyprus trip which should be testimony to our happiness with working with you and we will certainly do so again.

"We had a lovely trip thanks. M grew about an inch & learned about 50 new words - he basically was one to one with Juann in Kids Club almost every day.
It was extremely quiet - picked up a little towards the end but not much. We were very pleased about that.
The sun was shining every day but one - great. I have a tan for the wedding.

In terms of less positive feedback I do need to tell you that we had my Blackberry & laptop stolen from the room. It was almost certainly an inside job - it simply can't have been an outsider from the position of our accommodation. I sat with the manager, Michael, & he admitted as much - he'd taken on 26 new people in time for the season. We were totally convinced the cleaner had something to do with it. Anyway, I lost half a day with the police - the laptop & Blackberry have been replaced, but honestly I think there should be a more up front warning about security at the hotel desk. I was encouraged to leave our terrace open & I know most guests did... Not very street wise of me but once you are there you do live in a bubble.

The food was in general great - my only disappointment was that the truly excellent piano bar restaurant was only open on Fridays & Saturdays - and if they had an event (as they did on the middle saturday of the trip) you also can't go. This was one of the big positives for me as I'm a huge foodie, so I felt that them suggest they have 2 restaurants, whilst being true, is misleading. We were able to eat there only twice during the whole trip & the beach restaurant food became a bit dull.
They have opened it 6 days from this week so any new arrivals will have the benefit of both.

Staff were lovely - really friendly & helpful.

So I'm not going to let the not-so-good detract from the trip. I hope the feedback is helpful and not whiney - It was great & thanks for helping put it together"

"We did have the most fantastic holiday so below criticism is based from that perspective. Also frankly, to be asked is a positive too. All below will appear on Trip Advisor too.

Dealing with Essential Escapes/Tots Too was extremely positive. Having a smaller company looking after a family holiday is preferable to a major one where you are potentially being dealt with by multiple people. The only issue here was being verbally told the wrong terminal for departure, which caused some grief as you might expect.

Cotton Bay was without doubt as described. A stunning collection of 2 and 3 storey whitewashed buildings, surrounding a good sized pool in a beautiful spot. The beach was amazingly un-developed.

The ground floor two bedroom apartments are set down a foot or two from the pool - this can make seeing children in the pool tough. The pool is built above ground and decked around it. Of note: The top floor apartments have a number of balconies and pretty much direct access to pool side.

The apartment

Well appointed and the American style fridge with its constant supply of ice was brilliant. For a family of four the two bedroom units are pretty perfect in size. Our only small negative point regarding the apartment was the lack of a bath. Two showers rooms had been crammed in, why not one bigger bathroom with a shower?

Food

The food in the beach restaurant was consistent and good. The staff were barring one or two exceptions great. In two weeks, we were only bored with the food once. The kids were very happy all the time. Exception: room service. Too slow, food cold and expensive.

Kids club

One of the best we have experienced. Recommend fully and wholeheartedly.

Would we go again

Yes. The first family holiday outside the UK that we would happily re-book.

Major negative

The transfer to the airport put a little cloud over an otherwise perfect holiday. We were supplied a small car for the four of us, our luggage was crammed in, our kids squashed. For the first time in their lives (7 and 4) they were car sick. The driver did not give a jot and could not have cared less.

"We had a really lovely time. The property is very pretty, the beach is wonderful and especially for the kids, the pool is gorgeous, the remoteness and quiet and big plus, the villa was huge! On the plus list I would also say all the staff are very friendly, nothing is too much trouble, especially our lovely butlers. We all loved the beach cafe and the Half Board proved very worthwhile. We would like very much to go back next year, and for a longer stay!"
