Atarra Soaks up the Glamour at Puente Romano, Marbella
Posted on 14th Aug 2015
If you fancy a luxury break then look no further than the delights of Marbella’s Golden Mile and head straight to the five-star stylish Puente Romano, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World. With a five-star Grand Luxury rating, which is the highest in the Spanish hotel system don’t expect a bargain here although the rooms are very spacious and you do get a lot of luxury for your money.
Just a 50 minute drive from Malaga Airport the hotel is located between Marbella and Puerto Banús and it is situated in front of the beach. If you fancy exploring the local area the Old Town of Marbella is only 3 km away and here you will find shopping venues, restaurants and bars.
Although Puente Romano is quite large it has been designed to recreate the charm of a cosy Andalusian beachfront village, set amidst lush gardens, banana, bamboo and orange trees, waterfalls, three storey low- rise white buildings with blue and white tiles. The heart of the Hotel and its social focus is the Roman Bridge (Puente Romano) from which the property took its name.
Friendly and hospitable to children the hotel offers Mediterranean style interconnecting rooms for families as well as an array of Suites, kid’s menus and a complimentary kid’s clubs for little ones from 4 – 10 years open during the summer months (June to the end of Aug) and sometimes during Easter and half term. Under 4’s are able to use the kids club facilities as long as they are accompanied by an adult. They also offer a range of activities for teenagers so no one is ever bored here.
A pleasant walking promenade lies between the hotel and onto the glorious sandy beach. It is a public beach but the Puente Romano provide their own sun beds and parasols for their hotel guests. There are three swimming pools (one of which is heated all year round) as well as a children’s pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a new Six Senses Spa, a world famous tennis club, golf is available at the Marbella Club Golf Resort and El Higueral nearby and the equestrian centre offers riding lessons and daily excursions.
All 8 restaurants are superb and include a 2 star Michelin by Dani Garcia, an international restaurant, a Japanese, an Italian, an Arab, a Spanish Brasserie, an organic restaurant, a Seafront bar and a restaurant on the beach with Mediterranean cuisine. I enjoyed a very memorable lunch at the Sea Grill – paella, pimientos de padron, delicious seafood….the spread of high end food was endless and suits every taste. It’s worth noting that restaurants for evening dinner get booked quickly so we strongly advise pre-booking in advance which we can assist you with this.
Puente Romano is ideal for a long weekend or for a longer family holiday, it is suitable for children of all ages as there is something on offer for everyone including evening entertainment and the weather is consistent all year round. I was highly impressed!« Back to blog home
