Dhiren visits Gran Hotel Atlantis Bahia Real, Fuerteventura
Posted on 11th Nov 2015
The resort is located in the North of Fuerteventura in Corralejo, an area that has great views of neighbouring islands Lanzarote and Lobos. During the 45 minute transfer I enjoyed the beautiful landscape of Fuerteventura. Corralejo has miles of white sand dunes. The coastline is rugged with some of the finest beaches in the Canary Islands nearby just a short stroll or taxi ride from the resort.
I arrived at the resort and was instantly blown away by the grand lobby. The suites mirror the décor with either Japanese, French and classic Spanish décor throughout. Gran Hotel Atlantis Bahia Real is a quiet resort but is only a short walk or taxi ride from the town of Corralejo which has great family-friendly bars, restaurants and shops.
The resort has its own private beach club and offers beach beds (at a charge) and chill out music. It’s a haven for families who want a relaxed holiday by the pools or on the beach or those who want to partake in activities. There is an abundance of water sports and this part of the island is the ideal location due to the coastal breeze as well as more relaxed activities such as yoga, tai-chi and Pilates.
There are a range of rooms to choose from with a choice of pool views (inner courtyard view), sea views and some with landscape views. The resort is only three floors high and junior suites some with interconnecting rooms are located on the ground floor.
I visited the spa which is beautiful and spans a huge 3000 sqm and they offer a vast range of treatments. For foodies, the choice of restaurants within the resort is fantastic with everything from gourmet, Japanese, Spanish, Mediterranean and the buffet which also has a lot of choice. I really enjoyed the meal I had in the buffet restaurant and I would recommend that you pre-book the a la carte restaurants as they get busy and have limited spaces.
In a nutshell, Fuerteventura has fantastic weather all year round, September and October are particularly beautiful as it is slightly less breezy. Families can enjoy both relaxing stays or very active with so much on offer! It is also possible to take the 20 minute ferry to Lanzarote if you fancy island hopping.« Back to blog home
