  • KF 31 July 2017 "We all had an amazing holiday and would definitely recommend Pine Cliffs to any family. It ticked all our boxes. We enjoyed it so much, we are even looking at booking again for late August/early September"

  • JL, travelled August 2015 03 September 2015 We had an excellent time, thank you. Pine Cliffs is a superb family resort with plenty to occupy our kids at 5 & 7 years old, with the numerous pools, beginner tennis lessons and beginner golf lessons. The accommodation was excellent and restaurants excellent too, particularly Piri Piri. So, I'll give the holiday a 4.5/5, with the 0.5 going as it was a bit of a trek to the beach from the residences.

  • LJ 07 October 2014 "We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in terms of quality family time together, however, we did experience a few issues with the accommodation which is why I was planning on contacting you anyway. I firstly would like to say that the help which we were given by Tots Too was excellent and you certainly made the experience of travelling with a toddler much less stressful knowing that things were taken care of in terms of organising a high chair and cot in our room and particularly the car seat in the private transfer. I would have no hesitations in recommending you as a travel company for families with young children.

The private transfer was fantastic and we were swiftly taken to the Pine Cliffs resort by a friendly and helpful driver. Upon arrival at 1030am, we were taken to the hotel to be told that our room wouldn't be ready until 1pm which I hadn't been prepared for as had assumed we would be able to get our tired toddler down for a nap as soon as we arrived. We managed to kill time and then were taken to the other end of the resort to collect our keys, however the room was not ready until nearly 2pm and then we had to wait for a cot to be delivered so it was rather stressful with an overtired 2 year old. However, the apartments were lovely and had every modern amenity which you could need for a week away. We were impressed with the amount of space and the thoughtful layout of the apartments, though would note that a thorough clean of the corners of the apartment would have been appreciated. We were able to leave our daughter in the Porto Pirata kids club for an hour that afternoon to see if she liked it before we used it the following day and also to give us a chance to get to the supermarket. We were disappointed to learn that the supermarket in the resort closed 3 days prior to our arrival which meant a 25 minute walk each way, to the one outside the resort. We were thoroughly impressed with the kids club and our daughter had a fantastic time there during the week. The staff were extremely friendly and caring and really took an interest in the kids. We were quite glad that there weren't too many kids at the club as the rooms used for lunch and snacks were extremely hot and would have been oppressive if there were more kids in it so I'm not sure what it would be like during high season. The meals which she had for lunch were lovely and varied and we were delighted that they were relatively healthy as know some places would be likely to rely on chips etc.

In terms of restaurants, we were impressed that the staff were all very family friendly and were on hand to quickly bring a high chair and kids cutlery as well as ensuring that any kids food was brought out promptly. However, we were disappointed to discover that the two restaurants closest to us (O'Grills and The Clubhouse) stopped serving food at 530pm. On one occasion we went to OGrills and we asked nicely and were fortunate to be allowed to order food from the daytime menu rather than the bar menu which was the one meant to be available at 5pm. We asked if we could do this again the following night and told that it shouldn't be a problem, however, the following night this was not allowed so we were disappointed. Evening meals therefore required the 25 minute walk to the exit of the resort to what was really a poor selection of restaurants in the small village. The quality of food at Piri Piri, OGrills and The Clubhouse was certainly very high and we would recommend them for eating in. However, we would note that on some mornings, there was a large number of flies over the food at breakfast which reduced the choices we felt were available to us. The hotel might want to consider fly nets over fruit and bread and lids on jams etc to make the food more appealing. We found the walk to get to the hotel and other restaurant options was just too far to go with pushing a pram and the fact that I am over 6 months pregnant didn't help. It was also for this reasons that we were not able to go to the beach as it was just too long a trip. It would have been achievable if there were pavements within the resort, but apart from one through part of the Residences area, to get to the hotel and resort exit, you had to walk on road with traffic over very bumpy surface and should a car come, you occasionally ended up having to walk in the storm drain which wasn't ideal with a pram.

While we thought Porto Pirata was fantastic, it was the only activity place for kids within the resort and it would have been nice to have a play park or something dotted around the place as it was a 10-15 minute walk to get to Porto Pirata. As a result of this, we thought that the resort, while advertised as family friendly, might be more suited to families with older kids. We liked the fact that there was a heated pool which was great for our toddler and not too much of a shock for us to get into the pool with her.

Unfortunately during our stay there was a large corporate group which checked in the day after we arrived (Friday 26th) and they stayed for 3 nights. This group of young online advertising people who seemed to be from all over Europe and USA, proved to be rather disruptive in the evenings. On their first night we ended up having to phone reception 4 times to get security out to do something about the noise level as they were having a party in an apartment opposite ours and the noise was ridiculous. The following morning, we spoke to the duty manager who was very apologetic and assured us that measures were being put in place for the second night. We kindly received a bottle of port and some marzipan fruits as way of an apology from him which was unnecessary as we know it was not the hotel's fault for the noise. The following night, we were yet again awoken on numerous occasions and were required to phone reception. The next morning we were informed that the local authorities had to be called to try to control the group and their behaviour. On their final night were we all yet again woken during the night so essentially we lost 3 days of our holiday due to lack of sleep caused by the behaviour of other guests. For a supposed 5 star family friendly resort, this was far from what we would have expected. We fully appreciate that it was not the fault of the hotel, however, in the future, they may have to consider better vetting of corporate bookings as the behaviour of these guests was inconsiderate and to be honest, without wanting to be snobby, it would be the behaviour you would expect at a 3*hotel in Magaluf, not a 5* resort which we had spent a considerable amount of money to stay there.

In light of our experiences, we would highly recommend Tots Too, however, we would not consider returning to or recommending Pine Cliffs Residences to our family and friends. Thank you for all your help in booking our holiday"

  • AM 17 July 2014 "We had a lovely holiday.
    The accommodation was definitely 5/5.

Meals within the restaurants in the resort were expensive and probably overpriced for the quality of the food.

Golf course, beach and pools were all fab.

We didn't use kids club so I can't comment on this.

We would consider returning to the same resort which is the first time we have ever thought to do this and we would recommend the resort to others."

  • AC 23 April 2014 "Thank you for organising our Portugal trip – it was great! The accommodation and the hotel were really good. We had two days of great weather and then a little bit patchy with some rain storm but it didn’t matter so much as there was the indoor pool a gym etc. My kids didn’t mind swimming in the outdoor pools (but I thought they were too cold!)

Now we want to start planning our next trip! "

  • es 15 August 2013 I had heard a lot about this hotel from friends and having now been, I can see why people choose to return again and again. Firstly, thank you Tots Too for recommending our block, it was a perfect location for us and the fact that we were on the ground floor made it so easy with the buggy. The food, although lots of options, did get a bit tiring over the course of the 10 days but chose to eat out which was great and good for a change of scenery.

our kids loved the pirate club particualr thanks for Elsie who was amazing with our daughter who still mentions the creche now!

the staff were amazing and nothing was ever too much for them. I will be back in touch again soon to book our next trip there. Thank you yet again Tots for organising such a smooth holiday.

  • RH 31 July 2013 "Thx vm for recommending the Pine Cliffs.

We had a fantastic holiday and will be contacting you in the next few weeks to book again for next year.

The resort was pretty much prefect for us (as you know, it’s not so good for very young children due to the walk to the beach).
The apartment/room was one of the nicest that we’ve stayed in and the cleaners always did a very thorough job.
Facilities and restaurants around the resort were excellent and the staff were generally outstanding (extremely friendly and plenty of staff, unlike the Abama which felt understaffed in the restaurants).
The only minor criticism was that there are a lot of sun loungers crammed in to a small space on the beach and this was the only part of the resort that didn’t have the “exclusive” feel. Apart from this
the beach was excellent for our boys (who predictably weren’t keen to spend any time on the sun
    loungers anyway....)"

  • SDT 23 July 2013 "Thanks for that. I was going to email you anyway just to thank you for organising a fantastic holiday for us. The Pine Cliffs was a great choice for us, and was especially good value with the free upgrade to half board! There were plenty of really good restaurants. The accommodation was in a great location and of an extremely high standard, with everything you could want. the pools were brilliant and the staff were all very helpful and friendly.

You were very informative at the booking stage, providing us with key information about the resort, I met quite a few people who hadn’t been informed by their travel agent about the extra cost of the Kids Club.

The transfer to and from the resort was all well organised and the taxi was of a really good standard. Also, one of my children suffers from car sickness and the Drivers to and from the resort were really understanding.

Will you let me know when the best time is to book for next year, and if there will be the free upgrade to half board.

Also, do you do ski holidays for families, we hav never been and we were thinking about going for a week in or around the 27th December 2013.

Best Regards and thanks again I will definitely recommend you to my friends."

  • SW 18 July 2013 I would firstly say that you and your colleagues couldn't have been more helpful, you provided a super service. I was recommended by a friend and would certainly recommend you on to others - thank you very much

We had a fantastic time in Portugal.

The Pine Cliffs resort overall was excellent, the apartment was fabulous, some of the restaurants we tried (Pescador/Japanese) were great and the kids club was brilliant. We all really enjoyed it

The service was mostly excellent, I would only say there were quite a few issues (with so many people being on half board) actually getting a table and getting seated for dinner at the main buffet close to our apartment O Grill. Our friends who we travelled with did complain about this to the manager before we left

All in all a great holiday and if they can increase capacity or otherwise solve the dinner issue we would definitely book again!

  • JH 10 July 2013 We returned from Pine Cliffs yesterday after a lovely 10 day holiday.

I wanted to thank you for all of your help, and in securing us what I think was the best situated apartment in the Residences. It worked really well, and everyone – children and adults – had a great time.

I’m sure we will be back to you again next year for some recommendations!

  • LT 17 June 2013 Thanks for your email, we had a lovely break but a week just isn't long enough!

    Feedback as follows:

3 bed apartments are fantastic, plenty of space & worked really well with the 3 children. We were in block S7 this time, very close to the residence reception, but we would still always rather S1, S2, S3 or S4 given we spend so much time west of the residence for the pirate club etc. We certainly wouldn't want to be any further on than this. I know they can't guarantee & you can only make a request on our booking though.

Minor niggle over high chairs at breakfast time, they didn't seem to have enough at the O Grill on any morning, I'm not sure if that was because there were a particularly large number of babies there the same week.

We love the fact that they have a new Japanese restaurant, Yakuza, which we thought was great. The resort needed it but the other high end, a la carte restaurant (Il Giardino) has closed so they are light on dining options. Wills cousin recently visited Pine Cliffs with his children & their only grumble was the lack of dining options too.

Having said that, it works for us & we really enjoy it. The service is always very good. We would like you to give us a quote for Summer 2014 as well if that is ok?

  • KH 23 May 2013 "I have been meaning to write you since we returned home to London.

Our trip, from beginning to end, exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend this destination and resort to any of our friends with young children. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the rooms were clean and fully outfitted with everything we needed, the food was good and we felt like the prices for all the "extras" (spa, tennis, golf, creche) were more than reasonable.

I have already recommended Tots Too to a few friends who have booked holidays through you, and I will continue to do so. I am launching a mommy and me fitness class called Buggy Bootcamp here in central London next week. I will plan on recommending this particular destination to my clients when the subject of travel comes up.

Thank you for making everything so easy. We look forward to booking our next holiday with you."

  • EO 18 July 2012 "I do want to thank you very much for organising our holiday and let you know it was utterly fantastic. This is the first holiday that we have taken with our son that I have properly enjoyed and felt really relaxed!

Your guidance and advice on taking the Residence suites was second to none and you were absolutely right it was the best choice. Despite requesting S1-6 we got S7 but 701 was a great room in fact it couldn't have been more perfect! A stones throw away from the main Casa pine cliffs and restaurants and a good view over the 3rd tee which was perfect for us!

The accomodation was top notch, beautful heavy oak dors and furnishings and despite havng children clearly in them still seemed very new. We didn't use the Porto Pirata because we wanted to spend time with our 3 year old boy and there was definitely enough interaction at the pool with other children and toys to keep him entertained. He was in 7th heaven and is asking to go back next year which we will!

All the families we met , the staff, cleaning ladies, babysitters were perfect. We only ended up eating out once as our son was so worn out with the sea breeze, beach and pool that he slept for nearly 12 hours each night (this does not happen in the UK and probably aided by the wonderful heavy dark curtains, beautifully comfortable, roomy beds and good sea air!)

We ate on the verandah most evenings when he was asleep and wth the beautiful giant prawns and good meat you can get in the local supermarkets it was barely an effort.

Thank you so much again for your help and advice guiding us in the right direction. We will be back next year!!"

  • SM 14 July 2012 "We had a fantastic time thank you. It is probably the first hotel I have stayed in with C where I really started to relax and the weather was fantastic too!

Thanks so much for organising it for us."

  • AMG 20 May 2012 "Everything was just wonderful and we loved Pine Cliffs.
Really everything from the transfer to the reception, the staff, the apartment, pools, beach etc was perfect

We will definitely go back and would thoroughly recommend the place.

    Many thanks again "

  • MH 25 October 2011 "The house at Pine Cliffs was great - we loved it - just my thing! Also loved the pool and I think it all helped that the weather was really good - the best October they have had in 20 years so they said.

Service was also good - especially at breakfast where the staff were excellent.

Once again thank you for recommending it as we did go over to the apartments and much preferred where we were for style and location."

  • DS 17 September 2011 We had a fantastic time at a fantastic resort, the accommodation was ideal for Grandad having his own room, bathroom and seating area, our son having his own room and bathroom and obviously ourselves having this also all with sliding doors out to our own patios.

The staff all over the resort were excellent and would make special mention of the piri piri restaurant and the nursery (pirate ship) both excellent for very different reasons obviously. If you do get the chance visit the champagne bar to see the sunset very romantic. Would thoroughly recommend Pine Cliffs to anyone with young children and we will definitely be back.

The only one negative comment would be the O grill restaurant where the service and food did not match the rest of the resort, that aside we heard they did a great breakfast so maybe we just got unlucky on the couple of times we visited.

Looking forward to returning one day soon as the weather up here is very Autumnal to say the least. Thanks again for all your help and steering us to the correct accommodation - very glad we did not book the townhouse!

  • CL 06 September 2011 I can quite honestly say that our time at the Sheraton Pine Resorts was the best holiday we have had with E [daughter]. The facilities were perfect for both E and us, the apartment was great, spacious, clean and very comfortable. Having the garden room was again great for E, so thank you very much for the advice.

We didn't end up using the children's club due to the age group 6 months to 2 years is a very big gap, and with E being 2 1/2 she needed greater stimulation, with the assistants playing games and organising activities, which didn't happen as they had a few babies to look after. E did attend for 1 hour but was really bored, but she had a brilliant time at that pirates playground, which was just fabulous.

Thank you again for all your help and advice which helped us have a brilliant holiday with great memories.

I am sure we will be booking again for next year

  • VH 01 July 2011 "We had a lovely holiday (except 7 hour flight delay on the way home but these things happen! At least it wasn't on the way out there).

We found the accommodation to be superb - definitely the best we've had for the 5 of us - and obviously the place is beautiful and facilities fantastic. Unfortunately with the exchange rate it did seem pricey but of course that would have applied nearly anywhere in Europe. Our only real gripes were that there was no evening entertainment (for either children or adults) which we found very disappointing (as did many other families there), and we felt the level of service left a bit to be desired - some staff were amazing but the reception staff in particular were really a bit indifferent and didn't seem to listen which was a shame and not what you expected from the overall standard of the place.

It was exactly as you described and you putting forward the request for an S1 room meant we were in the perfect place within the whole resort so you can be assured I'll be contacting you again in the future."

  • LM 26 June 2011 "We had a lovely time thankyou...the Resort was really amazing.....apartment was great...location perfect....not overlooking the pool...but just behind..which was perfect for us as we overlooked trees and part of golf course so felt private...

Service was great....Our food order was not in the room when we arrived ...but one phone call and they opened the mini market up for us during lunch so that they could fulfill our order...

It was a shame about pirate ship being under construction as my boys longingly looked over at it every day and of course wanted to play on it....but it didn't spoil anything...it would have been a bonus....

We would definitely consider going back here next year...which isn't something we typically do...we like to try new places....Would you keep us posted about prices/offers for Pine Cliffs for next year...and also any new ideas you may have....

Thanks so much for all your help in organising a lovely weeks break for us....."

  • HY 18 May 2011 "We had a great holiday. The hotel was lovely, and the accomodation and staff were brilliant. We had been told to take our own bedding and cutlery for the babies but actually didn't need either. You couldn't live without a pram if you had young children like we do (4 months and 22 months), the resort is big so it would have been difficult to carry them around. There is one heated outdoor pool which was a nice surprise. We made full use of the playground which was really the only "entertainment" we used for our fearless 22 month old. They closed this the day before we left to upgrade everything so it should be even better now.

The downsides: access to the beach was not pram friendly. There is a lift but then quite a few steps from that to the beach so most people left their prams and carried their children and all their stuff which is tough if you have beach toys etc. The Deli, which is the little shop on site was really expensive, a small loaf of bread cost 5 euros! There is a supermarket just outside of the complex but we didn't see this until we left. I can't think of any other negatives, we loved the place and are already looking forward to going back!

Thank you Helen for being so helpful, we will definitely be recommending Tots Too to our friends and you will be the first people we contact when we start thinking about our next holiday."

  • HD 15 May 2011 "We absolutely LOVED every minute of it. Travelling to and from couldn't have been easier (although we were a bit cheeky and upgraded to business on the way out). The apartment was gorgeous and having your own washing machine and dryer and dishwasher was immensely helpful. Everything was expertly organised by you - they knew all about us at the kids club (I even saw Rio Ferdinand there on the second to last day!)

Basically we really want to go back and we have only ever said that about Jumeriah Beach in Dubai. The people were so friendly and our baby sitter just lovely.

Will definitely recommend you and will be back to book the same time next year all being well.

No complaints at all and will post on your website too but thank you, thank you, thank you for an amazing 2 weeks! Sad to be back but tanned and rested!"

  • LT 03 May 2011 "We had a lovely holiday thanks, great weather (except for the first day!) & Alex loved it. We did want to give you some feedback though, see below:

The actual Pirate Ship site of the kids club was being refurbished which were surprised hadn't been mentioned to us when we booked (not at all your fault, I thought they would have mentioned it when confirming Alex's place) In all honesty, it didn't really make any difference to us as the kids club was based in the games room up by the hotel but we were just a bit surprised to see the pirate ship all boarded up! It may be worth mentioning to any other clients that you have going in the near future although I'm not sure how long it was due to be like that.

May is also classed as low season there so not all the restaurants are open & the little train doesn't work, apparently everything kicks in again in June. Again not a problem for us, it just meant that everything was based around the hotel more this time.

We did however, get the apartment that we had requested which was nice & everything else was great.

Please don't think that I am complaining about any of the above, we really had a wonderful time again, I just thought there were a couple of things that were worth mentioning.

We also wanted to ask you if you could let us know of any other resorts very similar to the Sheraton Pine Cliffs in other parts of Europe. We love Pine Cliffs & would happily go back but would like to see what other options are out there. No rush on this at all, just whenever you get a min. Then I'll have to see if I can convince W to squeeze in another hols around Sept / Oct time!
    Thanks very much again"

  • EW 24 October 2010 "We had a great holiday, we were lucky the weather was lovely all week which obviously made it. Pine Cliffs was fantastic for what we needed. With a 3 and 5 year old we found it easy to get round the resort and, to have the facilities it has, you have to expect to walk a bit. The beach was beautiful, the resort was very well maintained and our apartment had everything we needed and was serviced every day. The swimming pools were beautiful though very cold though one was heated (but only just!). Having towels provided everywhere for free was brilliant. We never had a problem getting somewhere to sit.

The Pirate club and the playground area were the best facilities we have seen for children at a hotel, our children loved playing there and the staff at the club were all very friendly. Food was expensive and we knew to expect that, the choice was good and we enjoyed Piri Piri restaurant especially. Service was mostly good - could be a bit slow, and the children's choices could have been a bit more varied/more colour/fruit and veg. We had the breakfast a few days and there was a great choice and pretty good quality for a buffet.

Tiny gripes - could have done with child friendly cups in apartment - tea/coffee cups or wine glasses only! Though our room was serviced each day (very well) it would have been good to have at least a cloth to wipe surfaces and washing up liquid. We got dropped off at the hotel not the Residences reception by mistake though we were taken on very quickly. Sprinklers left the bit outside our apartment a bit wet and therefore slippy as it didnt get the sun."

  • KH 24 October 2010 "We had a really lovely stay at the Sheraton Pine Cliffs . The accommodation was very good and the kid's club was excellent & the kids had a lovely time there.

The feedback we'd have for the hotel would be:

    - given the target audience of young children, it would be helpful if the kitchens contained plastic glasses and plates.

    - we found it a bit stingey that they don't give you free bottled water in your room and the mini bar version is ridiculously expensive. Other 5 star places tend to leave you not to worry about these small details.

Thank you for helping us with our holiday."

  • ML 23 October 2010 "We enjoyed the holiday very much – the beach was lovely and the free towels ensured we didn’t constantly have damp beach towels draped everywhere. The staff were lovely and the apartment was huge – we found the washing machine and dryer very useful.

I think the main downside was that our youngest was borderline for a pushchair (he has not long started school and is a young 4) so we opted not to take one but wished we had as it was quite a trek for him back and forth to the beach and then back again later for dinner in the hotel (there was no restaurant open past 7pm at the residence end of the resort). I would recommend anyone with a child in this age bracket to err on the side of caution and take a pushchair – although this is probably only at the end of the season as I think a shuttle runs at peak times.

Can I also thank you for your assistance – I’m usually the type who books it all myself directly but found your service excellent and a great time saver."

  • JF 14 October 2010 "We had a great holiday – the weather was lovely for late October. The accommodation was fantastic and exactly what we were looking for – it’s difficult to find somewhere which is part of a good resort but also has self catering facilities and good spacious accommodation, I don’t think I could cope if we had to stay in a hotel and all be in the same room!

We were staying in one of the garden residences, I’m so glad we went for the garden residence at it was nice for Harry to play just outside and be completely safe. I thought the resort was beautiful and very well maintained. The only negative in the accommodation is that the kitchen should be equipped with some children’s crockery and cutlery, luckily I packed our own plastic cups, plates and cutlery and it’s a good job as the apartment only had large glass tumblers or wine glasses.

The Residences are not located close to any of the restaurants – The Grill which is close by does not serve dinner and closes at 6.30 so we had a bit of a walk to the main hotel in the evenings, this was a problem for us but could be for some people. We cooked a couple of nights and had room service one night, this was nice but VERY expensive.

Unfortunately the swimming pools are not heated and given that it was late October they were far too cold for small children. By the end of our week, most of the younger kids had terrible coughs and colds. We did find another pool closer to the golf club which was slightly heated but this was still only a tiny bit warmer than the non-heated pool. It seems that everyone else on the resort had also realised this was a slightly better pool so it tended to get very crowded here and it was a struggle to find a spot to sit.

We didn’t use the kids club but did take Harry to the park and play area which he enjoyed. The shuttle train wasn’t running but this could be because it was low season, the resort is easy enough to get around on foot so it didn’t cause any issues for us but I guess it would be better to know in advance for people who would rely on the shuttle to get around.

We thought the food was very over-priced and the children’s menu could be improved, it was fairly basic with just pasta or fish fingers/chicken nuggets and chips. The breakfast was very good though and well worth the 20 Euros. I don’t know if it’s possible to book for BB but I’d do this if we stayed there again. The restaurants were under-staffed – again, this is probably due to the time of year, but the service could be very slow at times and we heard several people complaining.

The supermarket on the resort is handy for basics but not very well stocked – there is no fresh meat or fish. We hired a car and went to the supermarket to stock up but again we couldn’t get any fresh meat or fish which was a little disappointing.

Our transfer didn’t arrive on the way home so this was a bit stressful – we only just made our flight. The driver told us that the resort hadn’t confirmed the pickup although I’d spoken to them the evening before to confirm that everything was arranged.

Overall we had a great time and we would book again, in fact we are considering Pine Cliffs for our Easter break, maybe we could have a chat about getting something booked?

I’ve also recommended the resort and Tots Too to most of my friends who have young families. We will certainly book with you again – thanks so much for all of your help. Hopefully we can speak later this week and make some plans for Easter."

  • PL 11 October 2010 "We had a fabulous time. The resort was lovely. Happy to give feed back.

Villa was really clean and tidy, and the daily maid service was brilliant. It had a well kitted out kitchen with all mod cons - Washer/Dryer, Dish Washer, Oven, Microwave - all good quality. The rooms were a good size and were nicely decorated but not plush. The only down side being that it was quite open plan and hard floors, so quite noisy and also difficult with the 2 toddlers as there were a few steps to the lounge area, and a flight of steps to the upstairs bedroom from the lounge with no doors, which proved a bit of a nightmare and we ended up having to position chairs in front of them to stop the little ones, stair gates would have been a huge help. The double doors in all the downstairs rooms to the outside were also a pain as they were not lockable and the kid’s could open them.

Garden and pool kept clean and tidy, but the garden was not secure and the pool which was a godsend being gated, was not usable as not heated and far too cold, also the shallow end was quite deep, far too deep for children. We didn’t use it at all, which was a real shame.

Good facilities in the resort though not all open as slightly out of season. The heated indoor was great but you had to wear swimming hats. The outdoor heated was also great and the baby pools a great hit. The pools in the Kid’s play area were not in use.

The Kid’s club looked great but as out of season was very quiet so we didn’t use it, although we did take the kids in there to play.

The beach was lovely but the steps down made it a bit of a hike with the prams/kids etc so we only did it once. Although the restaurant there was lovely.

There was a great super market just outside the resort but we did find that milk and meat were really hard to get."

  • LM 14 September 2010 "We all had a wonderful time at the Sheraton Pine Cliffs, so much so we will be going next year! Portugal was wonderful. The only downfall was the pram we had pre-arranged, the first one we had, the straps were broken, so Bobbie was able to get out! (well she fell out in reception). The second one had one loose strap, & the third buggy would not collapse, so we were unable to get a taxi or the train on the complex with the buggy. Just by chance on our second day we came across James Munro, the Director. He stopped and gave us a lift back to our apartment: he also tried to collapse the buggy with no success, & neither could his staff. A very friendly and helpful man.

The staff we found to be very helpful. The property we stayed in was also excellent! The holiday was all over too quickly, wish we had book another two weeks.
We will certainly recommend your services. ( Already have.)"

  • SB 05 September 2010 "We had a fantastic time at Pine Cliffs , the residences are great and the overall resort is excellent particularly for us with two toddlers – we will definitely look to travel there again. The Porto Pirata area with bouncy castle, pirate galleons, mini-golf, and playground had an almost daily visit from us! The pools were great, with good kids pools and safe stepped areas on the larger pools. The only criticisms of these facilities would be that the Porto Pirata looked a bit tired and will need an upgrade soon, and ideally the pools would be heated. Having gone in Sept, towards the end of our stay we stopped using the pool nearest the residences and used the heated pool by the golf apartments as it was much more comfortable.

All the staff we came in to contact with were excellent. The restaurant food was good, with a suitable children’s menu. On the negative side, we had expected the prices to be on the high end of the scale but some of the items were grossly overpriced and on one occasion I came away from the meal feeling a little ripped off. I don’t mind paying ‘hotel prices’ and expected as much at a Sheraton resort but the boundaries were pushed on some things and we learnt to choose carefully from the menu to get something like value for money.

Also worthy of note were the transfers which were extremely professional and comfortable. The car seats were of good quality and the standard of driving really good – none of that stereotypical European driving with one driver even choosing to use his Bluetooth rather than taking a call on his handset, which in my experience is unusual to say the least.

Finally, I have already expressed my thanks to you in previous emails for the help, information and guidance provided in choosing and booking our holiday but I would like to mention it again. I am extremely pleased with the quality of service provided by Tots Too and you personally and will certainly come back to again for future holiday enquiries."

  • LD 21 August 2010 "We had a fabulous time at Pine Cliffs : the accommodation, service and facilities were all excellent. Many thanks for your help in selecting this. I may well be in touch in a few weeks to look at options for next year!"

  • RM 10 August 2010 "In short, it was fantastic. I would definitely go back there in a heartbeat - the travel time is great, the accommodation first class and facilities brilliant. Thanks again for your help - we will certainly look to use Tots Too in the future."

  • RG 31 July 2010 from RG (beauty editor at Red), July 2010: "We had an amazing time thank you! Brilliantly organised by yourself and Tots Too. We really appreciate you getting us a room in the best possible location and making our trip so successful. Another triumph..."

  • JW 21 July 2010 "We had a lovely holiday. We thought the Sheraton Pine Cliffs was excellent. It's a wonderful location with fabulous pools, excellent service, good choice of restaurants and true 5 star accommodation. The lift down to the beach was amazing. So thank you for your recommendation and your excellent service. I have already passed your details onto a couple of friends. "

  • PM 18 July 2010 "We had a truly brilliant time. With a 3 year old the whole place was perfect for us ... a bit pricey (to say the least) but apart from that it was perfect .... the only one thing I would say was that the kids menu was a bit limited but no big deal.

It's a bit of a "perfectville" bubble (cannot really walk out to anywhere else) but for what we wanted - just to relax and do nothing it suited perfectly, the accommodation was fantastic, the staff were really helpful (in the excitement of getting there we left our pushchair at the airport and they lent us one for two weeks). Alexa, our 3 year old daughter, had an absolute blast ... in fact while we were checking in she could see the main pool and unbeknown to us (as we were concentrating on checking in) she stripped off in reception unpacked her little bag and shouted "Come on guys, let's go swimming" ... it was a very funny start to the holiday ....
We are thinking of going back next year for 3 weeks so if u have a special deal for repeat customers let us know!!! :)) Thanks so much for all your help ...."

  • RH 20 June 2010 "Firstly thank you for the recommendation, we have a superb time and the resort was just what we wanted. In addition, the service and advice we received from you was fabulous and we will definitely be coming to you again with our holiday requirements. We have already told our friends about you and the resort so hopefully more bookings.

In terms of comments on the resort:

Resort was fantastic – the suites were very high spec, very tastefully furnished, clearly quite new, very well maintained and extremely clean. The space was certainly large enough for our family. Good beds and linen and top bathrooms. Kitchen had everything you needed and was fully equipped. Your recommendation to get a garden access was excellent – it was by far the best for the children. In fact we overheard some people who clearly had not received that advice commenting they would have to get one next time. We had a room on block 3 which was midway between the pool at the suites and at the golf club and was fine. We would have preferred block 4 as the garden would have gone down to the Residences pool and we asked when we saw it but they said these were the most sought after rooms for that reason and there wasn’t one free. Block 1 would also have been good as they look out onto the golf course pool (which is heated so better for the kids).

    · Service was good – staff were friendly and very attentive.

    · Children’s club – again was excellent. We had 9 days of mornings for all 3 and it came to €801 which was not too bad (bizarrely 8 days was more!). Absolutely no issues and the kids had great fun.

    · Restaurants – the restaurants in the complex were ridiculously overpriced. We took the children to the Italian restaurant in the hotel. We had 3 courses and a bottle of wine – kids ate from the kids menu and the bill was €170! The food was pretty mediocre. Lunch was more reasonable and better quality at the grill restaurant at the Residences but still expensive.

    · The only thing that was disappointing was the shop in resort was also massively overpriced and was not stocked very well – no meat or fish. It seemed a little ridiculous to me that they attract people who want to self cater and then force them to go outside the resort to shop due to the price/ choice of the resort shop. If I were them I would make it much better and cheaper and hence keep the profit for themselves! There is a supermarket and very good fishmongers 5 mins walk from the hotel entrance (turn right), but if you are going to use the self catering facilities you need a car for at least a few days to stock up. We did this – we hired a car for the first 2 days to do a big shop in the large supermarket in town (and to go to see Zoo Marine – dolphins). It was about £50 per day incl car seats. If we go again I think I would get a car for the whole stay as shopping is much easier and it was good to get out of the resort. You can do it without using the local supermarket but you either need to go every couple of days or take a big rucksack and be a Royal Marine to carry it all back.

    · It is clear that many people who were there go year after year – we met a couple who were on trip number 3. They shared some tips – they said that they go for B&B as it is not much more they can stock up at breakfast for free (sounded like bread rolls in your handbag to me) – not sure if that is true? They also said room selection was key. Blocks 5-8 are a long way from anything (incl childrens club). There is also a new development on the site but not sure what that is called.

    · Transfers were very good by the way. All the right child seats were there and the drivers both ways were very attentive and helpful."

  • KB 16 June 2010 "Thank you, we had a lovely holiday despite rather inclement weather. The resort was exactly what we wanted and the accommodation was perfect. I am already considering a return visit."

  • DW 12 June 2010 "We had a fantastic time, thank you. The resort was perfect for our needs, with beautiful gardens and facilities. Staff also incredibly friendly and helpful. Very good for toddlers! We had a few minor gripes with the townhouse- a number of dead light bulbs that had not been replaced/no cutting knife in kitchen/irrigation hose that saturated the balcony in the morning."
