Junior Magazine  *Highly Commended* Tots Too
Family travel tips from Emma Barnett, Managing Director

What’s your recipe for the perfect family holiday?
The most important ingredient is peace of mind. I feel that travelling with my three daughters – Madeline, five, Eleanor, three, and Hannah, two months. Then just add blue skies and service with a smile.

What’s your favourite childhood holiday memory?
Going to Disneyland in the US, aged six, and discovering the  lt’s A Small World ride. I remember my father getting more and more exasperated as my sister and I refused to get off the ride. We ended up going round and round about ten times.

What’s your company philosophy?
No two families are the same. That’s why we take a bespoke approach.

Pick the perfect Tots Too “hero” holiday for… A family with a baby

Almyra in Cyprus is ideal as it offers a full range of baby kit for your suite, and the crèche welcomes babies from six months.

A family beach holiday
You can’t get closer to the beach than at Diva [now LUX] in the Maldives, where villas are on stilts over a blue lagoon, and children can paint shells or race crabs on the beach.

A family ski holiday
Chalet Petit Mouflon in Les Gets in France is an Alpine-style chalet at the bottom of a tree-lined blue run. With the nearest lift a one-minute walk away, you can be on the pistes in no time, then unwind after a day’s ski-ing in the rooftop hot tub.

Three tips for travelling with children?
Be prepared for all eventualities, including delays. Check what’s available at your destination to minimise packing.

What’s the secret of a successful family holiday?
Every family member should be carefully considered, no matter how small they are.

Three things you should always pack for a family holiday?
A familiar toy or blanket to help children settle in, a first-aid kit with Calpol and a sense of humour.

The perfect family holiday song?
A Spoonful Of Sugar from Mary Poppins

Perfect holiday reading matter for parents?
How about leafing through next year’s Tots Too holiday brochure?

Perfect holiday reading matter for children?
Where’s Wally? by Martin Handford for long journeys.

Worst holiday nightmare?
A sick child at the start of the holiday is one of the worst scenarios, but having essentials confiscated at the airport or leaving a bag behind can also dampen the holiday spirit.
