Tots Too are now total converts to world of cruising with the kids thanks to our first on-board experience in the summer. The wealth of activities, space and not to mention the sheer convenience of experiencing multi-destinations without packing and unpacking a suitcase makes a cruise hands down one of the most exciting ways to travel as a family.

Crystal operate two luxury liners; Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony. Their key point of difference from other cruise ships is simply the space; they have capacity for 2,500 passengers but choose to only accommodate 1,500, meaning the cabins, communal areas and overall feel of the ship is that much more spacious. This will particularly appeal to guests who want the ultra-luxury service and quality that they would expect from a luxury holiday; plus, because the ships are mid-size, Crystal excels in offering fantastic choice on-board and plenty of space to roam, relax and enjoy the experience.

Think ultra all inclusive on the highest level. There are seven dining experiences including the infamous Japanese restaurant Nobu, plus a wealth of entertainment experiences including a cinema, lavish theatre showing current west-end productions and a range of intimate cocktail bars. The kids club activities are vast and the only problem might be trying to work how you can fit it all in! Kids are not just welcomed, they are positively encouraged, although outside of holiday sailings, activities are less frequent and you can expect fewer families to be travelling.

The cabins are some of the largest you will find and felt surprisingly spacious, even at entry level. The services and furnishings are as you would expect  of a five star hotel with twice daily housekeeping, a menu of pillow options and luxurious feather mattress toppers. All cabins have flat screen TVs and Wifi access and there are a select number of interconnecting options for families. If you want to really push the boat out (excuse the pun) then opt for one of the penthouses which offer even more space, plus comforts of in-room dining, spa treatments and butler service.

with the unlimited and sheer abundance of food options on board, guests may want to consider taking advantage of the incredible fitness facilities. You may want to try simulating “walking on water” with the brand new Kinesis machine! On board you will find plenty of personal fitness instructors, plus spinning, cardio, stretch, step and spin classes; and with yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates instruction already included in the cruise fare, more and more people are taking advantage of these facilities.

For those who prefer to be pampered rather than pump iron;  There is  the Feng-Shui inspired Crystal Spa and Salon which features dry sauna and steam room, massage and spa treatments – all with cabins over looking the water.

There are a number of sailings to enjoy with so many off-shore activities for the whole family to enjoy. Try exploring Pompeii, kayaking the canals of Copenhagen, biking the mountains of Santa Cruz de Tenerife….the list is endless. For 2014, there is an expanded collection of voyages great for families including sailings round the Mediterranean, Baltic, North Cape, British Isles and Canary Islands.
