La Grange au Merle is a newly renovated Savoyard farmhouse chalet, located in the picturesque resort of Châtel, at the heart of the vast Portes du Soleil. The chalet sleeps up to 15 people.

The original character of this property has been maintained with wood interiors, exposed ceiling beams and a roaring fireplace. The property offers a real touch of luxury with its outdoor hot tub from which you can enjoy the mountain scenery.

The heart of the chalet is the large south-facing living space, offering views of the impressive mountain vista. This living area comprises a cocktail bar, lounge with warming fire and seated dining. A movie lounge and kids’ playroom are also available along with a library in the mezzanine.

Six stylishly decorated bedrooms accommodate friends and families. The ground floor comprises a master en-suite bedroom and two further double/twin ensuite bedrooms. Each has direct access to the south-facing balcony or garden terrace. A further generous double bedroom with a separate adjoining bunkroom share a large dedicated bathroom. The sixth bedroom is in the mezzanine with en-suite.

When you are not on the slopes you can make the most of the sauna, hot tub and a carnotzet (wine cavern) for evening wine tasting.

The chalet also has safe enclosed gardens with a children’s alpine playhouse, a covered double garage and additional parking for three cars and laundry facilities.

The resort of Chatel is the perfect destination for families with children – the adults can ski the large Portes De Soleil area (650 kms) visiting Avoriaz, Morzine and skiing over to Switzerland, while the children and beginners can learn at the ski school in Super Chatel which is right by the cable car.

The pretty Savoyard village resort offers some lovely restaurants and shops plus some great facilitates including the excellent new pool complex.

The chalet is a ten minutes walk from the Super Chatel cable, but a concierge service is available to whisk our guests to and from the lifts in a matter of minutes.

The catered chalet provides continental breakfast accompanied by a selection of hot options, afternoon tea of home-baked treats with tea, coffee and Vin Chaud. In the evenings canapés and pre-dinner drinks are served followed by a four-course meal.  Lunches and early dinners can be prepared as needed for children.

There will be one staff day off at which time a Continental breakfast will be set out and guests can sample one of the many restaurants in the village in the evening.
