Nestled along the untouched eastern coast of Mauritius, Trou d’Eau Douce Bay’s tranquil, uncrowded world-class beaches are found.  Thoughtfully renovated in accordance with plush contemporary design, every room and suite at Shangri-La’s Le Tousserok Resort & Spa incorporates indigenous island touches, features uninterrupted views of sparkling, turquoise waters and embodies sophistication and style. Families can enjoy fashionable restaurants, bars entertainment venues and a great kids club set against the backdrop of a dramatic tropical landscape.

Water sports and island activities can be customised to suit your family’s unique interests. Just off the resort’s pristine shore, there are two paradise islands – Ilot Mangénie, which is open exclusively to Shangri-La’s guests and features a trendy beach club and on-island butlers, and Ile aux Cerfs, which holds an 18-hole championship golf course that was designed by the famous pro-golfer Bernhard Langer. Other Facilities include two swimming pools, Peter Burwash tennis centre, Matt Roberts fitness centre, deep sea fishing, banana and tube rides, parasailing, horse riding, tracking/nature trails, deer stalking, cross country bicycle rides, canoes, kayaks and an array of water sports.

There are three different room types all with the same contemporary design and ocean facing with a terrace or balcony. There is also a 24 hour butler service available to all guests. The largest suites have a private dining room and a second terrace.

The resort features five restaurants that serve Western and Asian cuisines. From the spices and fragrances of India to the pure, fresh ingredients of Japan, there is something for every taste and occasion.  The aptly named Three Nine Eight restaurant spreads over three floors and serves cuisine from no less than nine countries out of eight open kitchens. Barlen’s offers a completely different dining option; a fusion of Asian and European cuisine is served in a friendly atmosphere with Barlen himself hosting to ensure everyone has a memorable evening. Safran boasts incredible views along with chef Ramesh Bundi’s modern interpretation of classical Indian dishes. Specialising in a dinner menu, this restaurant offers an elegant and sophisticated dining experience.

Whether 2 years old or 12, there is lots on offer at the kids club. There’s an array of activities, including arts & crafts, environmental excursions, games and discos. Teens can try out adventure sports such as windsurfing and use all other sporting facilities such as the tennis courts or golf course.

CHI, The Spa works with Matt Roberts Personal Trainers next door to combine treatments and fitness programmes with suggestions on nutrition, beauty and health. The fashionable Bastien Gonzalez Podiatry & Pedicure Clinic is also at hand.
