About The Hotel
Mykonos Blu is located on Psarou Beach with dramatic views of the blue Mediterranean, from where the resort gets its name. Family accommodation is in bungalows, suites and villas designed with Mykonos’ signature white washed walls, contrasting with the sea and making it appear an even deeper blue. Mykonos Blu specialises in laid back luxury with an intimate feel and whilst its selling point for families is the spacious and private accommodation, there is also a separate kids’ pool, babysitting service and complimentary kids club in high season.
There is a large, split-level infinity pool overlooking the sea, with a separate shallow pool for kids, as well as private pools attached to a number of the villas. The Exilir spa has private massage rooms, sauna, beauty salon and fitness centre and the Lobby Lounge and Sky Terrace overlook dramatic views to the Aegean Sea. There is access to water sports nearby and the wide stretch of beach with sun loungers and bar menu is an idyllic spot. Known as the jewel of the Cyclades group of islands, Mykonos is famous for its superb landscapes, its traditionally whitewashed buildings, its windmills, small churches and picturesque harbours where fishing boats are moored next to the luxury yachts of the jet set. It’s well worth hiring a car to discover the island.
Accommodation is divided into bungalow apartments, villas and suites and families can choose between the split level Mykonos Apartments, which have a master bedroom and a flight of stone steps leading down to a spacious second bedroom and second bathroom and the open plan Bungalow Suites which enjoy a prime location overlooking the sea and sleep up to two adults and two children. The Blu Villas sleep up to six and come with a private pool and all rooms are decorated to a high standard; kids will love the sky-coloured stucco ceilings with hand-sculpted light fixtures portraying a cloud effect.
There is a choice of two restaurants, a beach snack bar and private dining options. Aegean Poets serves Mediterranean cuisine with fresh flavours based on Greek traditions combined with Italian and French classics and enjoys panoramic sea views. In keeping with the laid-back feel of the resort, breakfast is served until 1200 on weekends and in August. L’ Archipel is a fine dining restaurant with tables al fresco overlooking the beach and Hello Beach is a full service of snacks, drinks and cocktails served on Psarou Beach. Children’s meals are available on request.
The kids club is open each morning and afternoon in July and August and caters for children aged 4 – 12, offering a good range of open air activities including beach treasure hunts and sports competitions. During low season there is no official kids club but the resort offers babysitting as well as baby and toddler equipment on request and a separate shallow pool. Hiring a car to explore the island is recommended for families, as kids will love visiting the idyllic beaches and picturesque fishing villages.
