Set on twin islands Play and Chill, Niyama Private Islands Maldives offers opulent family villas and tailored activities on the white sands of Play and stylish water-studios, a spa and fine dining on Chill. One of the Maldives’ most luxurious resorts, Niyama Private Islands is an idyllic escape for style-savvy families. There is a great kids club and a choice of family-friendly activities including underwater exploration with the resort’s Marine Biologist, an “Adopt a Coral” programme and private snorkelling tours.
The Lime Spa has six over water treatment rooms with views of the lagoon, two treatment sanctuaries within private gardens, a lime tree garden with sauna and steam baths, plunge pools, Jacuzzis and Vitality juice bar and specially tailored treatments for families and children. The large infinity pool overlooks the sea where you can swim with hammerheads and dolphins or skip over the water on a jet ski, wakeboard, catamaran or fun tube. Snorkelling on the house reef is complimentary and little ones can take an introductory “Bubble Maker” course in diving. Sailing trips and charters are also available, as well as big game fishing.
Each villa at Niyama Private Islands has a secluded deck with al fresco rain shower and many have direct beach access and / or a private pool. Each room is outfitted with a king bed, Deli-In with full-size refrigerator overflowing with gourmet treats, in-room entertainment system with LED TV, Bose surround sound and a range of international movies, as well as Thakuru (butler) service for the ultimate luxury. The spacious two bedroom and three bedroom Beach and Ocean Pavilions are ideal for families and come with a sunken living area, dining area with cocktail bar and secluded outdoor spaces including a private pool and Jacuzzi.
The cuisine at Niyama is a real highlight. There’s a choice of six restaurants as well as a deli for grab-and-go delights, a generous in-room mini-bar and the option of in-room dining. Blu offers family style dining on Play with Mediterranean-inspired dishes and a poolside ice cream parlour, Epicure on chill offers international cuisine in a casual chic setting by the infinity pool and Nest serves Asian avant-garde cuisines in a surreal tree top setting. Edge is a modern fine dining restaurant set half a kilometre out in the ocean and accessible only by boat and Tribal serves African, Central and South American cuisines amidst blazing fires.
Explorers Children’s Club, where young VIPs can embark on safaris, explore wildlife, go gourmet with Master Chef classes, scout for dolphins and more, caters for children aged 12 months to 12 years. Children are separated into four different age groups and enjoy age-appropriate activities in the natural environment and the outdoor fun area with playground, trampoline, splash park and Munch little gourmet kitchen.
Cots, highchairs and baby and toddler equipment are all available on request.
Babysitting is available on request.
Globetrotters creche caters for children aged 12 months - 2 years and is chargeable at $20 per hour.
