THE CANARY ISLANDS
The Canary Islands lie 70 miles of the coast of southern Morocco and it is this geographical position that affords the year-round tropical climate. Tenerife is best known as the “island of eternal spring” and is deservedly a first choice for a luxury family holiday.

Yes, there are lovely beaches, impressive landscapes and great weather, but there is also an abundance of attractions such as the Santa Cruz Carnival, the Loro Parque, the Camel Park, the Aguilas Jungle and Aqualand. Lanzarote has many quiet corners where the discerning traveller can escape the crowds. Although Tenerife is one of the most popular islands, this is for good reason. For an active family choose Fuerteventura, the surrounding beaches are a fantastic location for sailing, surfing and windsurfing. Lessons or excursions can arranged by Tots Too ahead of travel, so by the time you leave you are up to scratch on your skills.

Unlike many European sunny destinations, the season is not limited to the summer holidays. Some of the best times to visit, away from the crowds are during the May and October half terms. Still just as sunny and beautiful, but with more bearable temperatures, it’s the perfect choice for a family looking for some spring or autumnal sun. And, with less than a 4-hour flight it is a manageable destination for families with only a short time to get away.
