The British landscape may be second to none with its rolling fields and babbling brooks but when looking for a bit of drama, sometimes you must go further afield. From the deepest rain forests to the craggiest volcanic landscapes thrill seekers find the most inaccessible locations the most exciting. There is a common misconception that when travelling with kids these natural wonders are not nearly as exciting as for adults. But the natural world around us can bring out the best in your kid’s imagination, and they surprise you every day. Have you got a little one obsessed with dinosaurs or fascinated by space? Celebrate their passion with an adventure they will never forgets.
The land before time
Did you know that Croatia is actually in the top 10 countries where the most dinosaur fossils have been found? It has also been a chosen filming location for the ever-popular Jurassic Park! It is also one of the most ecologically preserved places in Europe. With much of its capital city a UNESCO heritage site there is plenty to spark any budding paleontologists need for exploration.
Away with the fairies
The Nordic Countries are well known for their folk tales with trolls and fairies who inhabit the small and out the way places away from humans. The magic of the dramatic landscape of Iceland is certainly somewhere you can get lost in the magic. From the healing properties of the Blue Lagoon to exploring the Troll Peninsula, there is no shortage of other worldly locations to create long lasting family memories together.

Hands on nature
It’s not so much lions, tigers and bears in Costa Rica but more sloths, turtles and whales. Costa Rica is an animal lover’s paradise whether it’s aquatic life, birds or big cats there’s always something around the corner. The island is an oasis for tropical wildlife, and there are a number of conservation projects that are based in Costa Rica, so budding ecologists can learn how we are preserving the world’s most endangered animals.

Some children grow up wanting to explore outer space, and while we like to think at TotsToo we’re accommodating, space travel isn’t quite on our itineraries quite yet… We can however bring you a little closer. Whether it’s sleeping under the stars as a family or floating over an Indian landscape in a hot air balloon our Indian itinerary has something for a future astronaut.
